Volt France presents its wishes to the press

Paris, January, 11th 2022 - Volt France wishes you all the best for the New Year. The health crisis that we are going through is unfortunately still topical; despite this period, we must remain vigilant and engage in all the necessary struggles for our country and Europe by being a force for proposals and by relying on the best practices of our European neighbours. In January, France takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In 2021:

  • Volt participated in various elections in France: for the first time we presented candidates in the regional elections in Ile-de-France, Hauts-de-France and Brittany, and in the departmental elections in Strasbourg and Aix-en-Provence.
  • We won three seats in the Dutch Parliament, two in the Bulgarian Parliament, and municipal councillors in Portugal, Germany and Italy.
  • Volt has supported causes with strong core values for ecology, human rights and European youth.
  • In September, at our General Assembly in Strasbourg, we elected a new French board with for the first time a mixed co-presidency.
  • In October, at our European General Assembly in Lisbon, we elected a new Volt Europa board with two French non-executive members.

 In 2022:

  • Volt France will enter into agreements with several political parties for the legislative elections and will present candidates in several constituencies.
  • Volt will also be present in several elections across Europe: in Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Malta.
  • We will continue to support causes with strong core values for the environment, the human condition, equality, justice, employment, health
  • We will be even more committed to making the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union a real opportunity for France to build Europe, in particular through our White Paper to create a new European momentum.

In the new year 2022, Volt France is committed to continuing its actions to reinvigorate Europe by putting citizens at the heart of the democratic process.

About Volt France

Volt France is the French chapter of the pan-European political movement Volt Europa, founded in March 2017 and present in all EU countries. In 2019, it garnered over half a million votes across the continent in the European elections and won its first seat in the European Parliament. Since then, its candidates have been elected to various municipal bodies in several countries. Volt wants to tackle pressing issues such as climate change, social inequality and economic crises through a more democratic and unified Europe.
