Volt in the European Parliament

> Volt enters the parliament with 248,824 votes (0.7%) in Germany
> This historic moment is only the beginning of Volt Europe

Paris, 27th May, 2019

Yesterday, European voters elected Damian Boeselager to the European Parliament!

This is a historic moment for us. A parliamentarian from a truly pan-European party has been elected to represent the people of Europe. Today we have proven that there is another way to succeed in politics, a pan-European way. With the election of an MEP, we will be able to defend policies based on the best interest of all European citizens, rather than that of each Member State.

"Today's results were a real, undeniable and unprecedented success. With grassroots funding and no household names, we achieved the unimaginable and ran a unified political campaign in eight Member States. We connected people, mobilised communities and gave them the opportunity to change their future and Europe. Johannes Veerkamp, Campaign Lead of Volt Europa.

"I am excited about what lies ahead, ready for what lies ahead, and above all extremely grateful to those who have given us their trust and support. We will not let the voices of far-right parties drown out those who have brought peace and prosperity to our continent," said Damian Boeselager, Member of the European Parliament.

This campaign has exceeded our wildest dreams. In the last six months, our membership, volunteers and subscribers have grown by over 250%. Volt groups have multiplied in 333 cities across the EU, and we have been featured in countless articles in the Member States' media. With over 400,000 votes for a democratic and integrated Europe from 8 different countries. Volt has highlighted what a positive, unified and citizen-centred European future will look like.

Damian, Volt's first MEP, will now represent Europeans in Brussels. He will represent our hope for a stronger, more united Europe. But it doesn't stop there. This experience and our vision for Europe have prepared Volt to become a major political player in the years to come. We have organised ourselves around our European identity and empowered communities to play an active role in politics. We are ready to continue to work for Europe and to stand for local, regional and national elections. We will continue to challenge traditional politics and bring a people-centred, progressive and pan-European politics to our societies. Through our campaigning, community work and citizen action, Volt will give people a stronger voice in politics. We will build a European democracy fit for the 21st century. We are here to stay and to reshape politics.
