Volt calls to vote against the extreme right and for Emmanuel Macron in the 2nd tour of the presidential elections

> The second round of presidential elections will be a duel of democracy against extremism.
> France must find a balance between the economy, social rights and the protection of the planet.
> Volt France calls for a vote for Emmanuel Macron, because the far right must not triumph in the heart of Europe.

Paris, 10th of April 2022

The second round of the presidential elections will see a repeat of the duel of Emmanuel Macron against Marine LePen.

It is a duel of democracy against extremism. Of a France that is a building block of the European project and a France that chooses nationalism over cooperation to overcome our common challenges. And lastly of a France that risks to stand with Russia and their war against the Ukrainian population when the Ukrainian people are currently defending everything we take for granted in Europe.

Volt France did not exist in 2017. However, many of us had high hopes in the ambitious project put forward by Emmanuel Macron and La Republique En Marche. In 2022, we are disillusioned that many of his most ambitious projects - the big debate, the convention of citizens for the climate or the EU Council presidency - fall short of the lofty expectations. Yes, the French economy is thriving, but just as the European Union is no longer just a European economic union, France needs to find the balance between the economy, social rights and protecting the planet.

Volt France therefore calls to vote for Emmanuel Macron not because we believe in his project, but because the extreme right must not prevail in the heart of Europe.

We are also calling on citizens to give their support and votes to new parties such as Volt France in the upcoming legislative elections. Political renewal needs new ideas and only if these ideas have support and a platform, the established parties and our democracy will evolve. If democracy is a balance, we cannot rely on the extreme left and right to keep our system in balance.
