After the municipal and regional elections, 3's a charm for Volt Lille
> Deux candidats de Volt se présentent aux législatives dans les 4ème et 9ème circonscriptions
> Volt soutient Rudy Elegeest dans la 2ème circonscription
> Les élections sont l'occasion de définir une nouvelle approche métropolitaine
Lille, 19th of May 2022.
After participating in the municipal elections with LilleVerte and the regional elections with Luce, the third one is the right one for the Volt team, whose logo will be present in three constituencies in Lille during the legislative elections:
- Eric Galera and Kenza Mounsi (PRG) are running in the 9th circonscription
- Claire Desbois and Nicolas Rocca are presenting themselse in the 4e circonscription
- Volt Lille supports Rudy Elegeest in the 2e circonscription
In return, Volt has the support of the PRG (4th, 9th) and Allons Enfants (9th) and wants to present voters with a pro-European alternative in the Metropolis. In this spirit, the Volt team has found many points in common with Rudy Elegeest - not only with regard to European cooperation, but also between municipalities at the metropolitan level - thus the origin of the support for his candidacy.
In this respect, the priorities of the Volt candidates focus on national issues, but always in a local context: making EPCIs, such as MEL, more democratic, ensuring that the infrastructure is not saturated by construction, or ensuring that freight traffic
Sven Franck, co-President de Volt France : "
We believe that the election of a deputy to the national assembly also obliges us to try to address the issues that matter in the daily lives of the people. With this approach and our European perspective, we have managed to win seats in the national assemblies in Bulgaria and the Netherlands and our goal is for Volt France to be the third country with national Volt representatives - why not Lille? Moreover, the elections are also an opportunity to look ahead to 2026 and to take the first steps towards a real metropolitan vision and strategy. I don't hide the fact that I was disappointed that Rudy Elegeest was not elected President of the MEL and I think that his ideas deserve to be pursued as he hopefully represents Lille, Mons and Villeneuve d'Ascq in the National Assembly.
Eric Galéra, responsable de Volt Hauts-de-France et candidat dans la 9ème circonscription du Nord : "After the presidential elections and with the disappearance of the established pro-European parties, it is becoming increasingly clear that we need political renewal in France. Only when small parties receive enough votes to be elected will the established parties start to adapt to the needs of the citizens. So, contrary to what is claimed, the useful vote in the legislative elections is a vote for political renewal. It is a vote that can plant a seed for a real choice in future elections. So my appeal is not to vote directly for Volt (although you should), but to give your vote to the smaller parties so that they have a chance to establish themselves."
