How to apply as a candidate?

Please send a dossier with the following documents to info@voltfrance.org.

For candidate applicants

  • A CV summarising professional experience and/or associative commitments (any political commitment must be mentioned);
  • A letter of application indicating the type of nomination sought (candidate), the constituency(s) sought, professional and electoral experience and motivation to represent Volt in the elections;
  • A signed certificate of honour (download);
  • A signed candidacy agreement for Volt France (download);
  • A copy of a piece of identity;
  • Certificate of registration on the electoral roll (link);
  • A video (max 3 minutes) answering the following questions (1) Why are you seeking the nomination of Volt France? (2) What are your 3 campaign promises?

For suppleant applicants

  • A letter of application indicating the type of nomination sought (candidate), the constituency(s) sought, professional and electoral experience and motivation to represent Volt in the elections;
  • A signed certificate of honour (download);

How do we invest our candidates?

The CNI

The Commission nationale d’investiture (CNI) is composed of 15 members and evaluates all applications.

  • The CNI votes per constituency and by simple majority;
  • Votes may be taken during or before the deliberations;
  • The quorum required is 10 members;
  • In case of competition between several candidates, the CNI selects the candidate according to specific criteria
  • Any member of the committee standing as a candidate does not take part in the voting and debates concerning his/her electoral zone of candidature
  • Any candidacy may lead to one or more interviews with the CNI

Nomination of candidates

The appointment of candidates is a priori final except in exceptional cases such as :

  • The resignation of a candidate during the election campaign;
  • Failure to comply with Volt's ethical charter, judged by a 2/3 majority of the CNI;
  • The unanimous decision of the CNI to replace the candidate during the election campaign.

The selection criteria

The following criteria are taken into account when nominating a candidate

  1. Compliance with legal requirements (age, nationality, etc.);
  2. The fit between the candidate's project and Volt's values.

Following the first two priority criteria, the weighting of the other criteria above is at the discretion of the CNI.

Additional criteria:

  • Electoral experience ;
  • Knowledge of the constituency ;
  • Awareness in the constituency;
  • Length of involvement with Volt / other movements ;
  • Knowledge of Volt policies;
  • Public speaking skills;
  • Ability to analyse a large amount of information in a short period of time;
  • Communication skills: ability to connect with people and put others in touch;
  • Active listening skills;
  • Integrity;
  • Collaborative skills;
  • Constructive attitude;
  • Active engagement: time and availability to campaign;
  • Following the first two priority criteria, the weighting of the other criteria above is at the discretion of the CNI.
